A truly great critic will reach into his word smith bag of tricks, and transcend reality with a narrative based upon a two word comment, weaving verbal thrusts and parries into a veritable Homer and The Iliad tower of magnificent achievement that stuns the world with the height of verve, vigor, emotion, triumph, tragedy, anger, and love all wrapped up in less than 500 words so it also qualifies for Readers Digest.

THAT, Sir, is a worthy critic. You,

Sir, are not a critic.

For the Win, Indeed.

I don't understand the propensity of some people to always attempt to refute or dimiss something that doesn't fit their opinion, beliefs, point of view or even thoughts on a subject.
There is a word for that when it's conducted via keyboard in a public forum.
Go ahead and fill in the blank yourselves.

I'm not claiming to be a critic. I'm claiming that the claims that these are in fact real communications don't pass the smell test, and if it is only presented as a parody (which I hope to whatever god you may or may not pray to that it is) then it is fairly weak sauce, as it makes little attempt to actually mimic real communications, and uses modern terminology, and tries to pretend there was some sort of concern over being PC in 1945, when not only was MacAurthur fairly well educated on the Japanese (he was the one who kept the Emperor in place, and by doing so, helped win the hearts and minds of the Japanese people) but when utterly base racist cartoons and posters were common place and even distributed by the US government.

MacArthur would have likely no more used language like this communicating with the president than General Lee would have casually sent telegrams to Jefferson Davis asking for more N*ggers (self censored, I don't believe in censoring racial slurs used in context, but some might) to build earthworks. To whit, if presented as fact, it falls short. If presented as a parody, it also falls greatly short due to it's poor use characters and material.

Oh, well, there you go again, Jimmy Carter.

You - were being a critic.

And, here you are again, being a critic.

Not a very good one, either. Again.

Douglas MacArthur was well known for both salty language as well as speaking his mind plainly, regardless of the consequences, one of the reasons why the politicians gave him the boot finally.

Modern terminology, my rear patootie. Most stuff claiming to be "modern" is pre dated by decades or centuries by the first implementation of words, phrases, technology, politics, etc.

AND - the thread title, philosophy, and subject material all stand on their own merits, regardless as an American attitude that should be used more often.

Also, for the record, name calling is not racist, it is name calling, pure and simple.

Like calling some one a rama lama ding dong klingon cocksucker from Uranus, it indicates distaste, derision, or contempt for the other party, usually well deserved

Fuck the Honey Boo Boo rainbow skittle shitting unicorn give everyone a gold medal POLITICALLY CORRECT LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH WHILE THINKING OR DOING SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BEHIND THE SCENE current lib tard bullshit behavior.

Straight goods, straight up.

Damm the torpedoes, and full speed ahead. Give me liberty, or give me death.
