This is why I like to root, if for no other reason, I can prevent forced updates, and decide when I want to upgrade.

I should have called you this morning before I let my phone update breaking the old install of Instagram that I had. Now it sucks, works just like it does on this loaner iPhone i have from Dan the dealer.

I was working on doing Beer Hounds warranty when the Swipe issue was given to me as they denied his request for warranty.

I personally think it's BS, but it's not the carriers fault, nor is it Samsung's.. It's just the way that Android update was applied. From what I hear, a new update (with patch) should be deployed soon.. How soon? Unknown.

Chris, are you saying that your phone is STILL butt dialing even after applying a homescreen lock?

 :peep: don't blame me

haha. no need, it will be replaced soon. Tried to get the new HTC M9, but the camera sucked so I returned it. Now I'm going to be looking at the Samsung6 when they hit the stores this week.

I had the home button issue as well on my S5...

The new lollipop update started rolling out yesterday (At&t)

And happy to report that the issue has been resolved.

Also, so far my phone has not experienced any of the common lollipop issues.

YMMV

I have the regular S5 with Verizon - no complaints at all. I haven't observed any glitches. I have had 2 failed updates in the past week, though. Both times I've tried to install, the phone goes to recovery boot mode, and only after a manual reboot does it tell me that the software update failed. So no update, but the phone still works fine. I'm OK with that, though...I've done updates on other devices in the past that royally F'd things up. My attitude is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Thanks guys!! Going with the Active. Hopefully it will not be the bad update on it and I can root it to stop auto updates. If not root and backstep, or hope the new update this week fixes it..

KF7, I will be down south on Sunday, will send you PM to see if can meet up for that root walkthru..

I about to pull the trigger on a S6 or S6 Edge any day now. Been doing way too much web research on both. I'm just hesitating whether or not to give up real estate space from my Note 4. Let us know how you like it.
