What have you hunted that is "Different"?

Thu Apr 09, 2015 10:24 am

Nutria, a sub aquatic rodent. These things are very deletrious to wetlands and it appears that they are now showing up around the Marysville area. They weigh about 10 pounds and reproduce when just a few weeks old. (probably Canadian, eh)
They were imported from So. America ( the real So. America) about 1930 for the fur trade. Bad mistake.

Rats... Lots of them. When I lived in B*******, the whole neighborhood at night was crawling with them. Rats are obviously everywhere in all types of situations, there just seemed to be a healthy population in my area. One night we counted over 20 in plain sight. They would only scatter if you got within 10 feet. I became the rat killer. Traps were used a lot, no poison as there were lots of pets in the area (as well as birds of prey, just not enough apparently). I am sure someone will come on and say "that's not hunting!"..... What ever. I hunted them :alcapone:

Tannerdog, I like the pistol set-up...

Starlings for me, filthy bludgers. Rats with wings that like to F up the eves of my garage trying to build nests. Season is approaching for them again, need to start excersizing the shoulder and getting back on form. Great practice for big game season, you can't get much closer than 20yrds even if you are sneaky. Aim small, miss small...

Wallabies. Little bastards. Kill a whole bunch of trees. We used to spotlight then in New Zealand regularly. Hard to hit on the run!

And pig hunting - with dogs and a knife. Hard core.
