Nearly a dozen California deputies were suspended after a video emerged showing several officers beating a suspect for more than a minute after he was hit by a Taser and apparently surrendered.

color of the officers or the perp. Odd that...

Yeah, I saw that video earlier today . . . it is very disturbing.
Granted, the dude sounds like a first-rate dirtbag, and I'm sure the officers were extremely irate that they were chasing his ass through the desert . . . but the guy laid down on his belly, spread his legs, and put his arms behind his back, and then they BEAT HIM!! WTF.

Excessive force? Well maybe the guy was a horse theif I guess they just should have hung him.

No the shitbag at the bottom of the pile. They should have shot him.

I'm hoping we are entering a golden age of LEO accountability that will culminate in body cams and extremely cut and dried use of force regulations. The days of autonomous officers getting away with stuff like this, and being able to doctor reports to say what they want is ending. The days of cops being simply trusted because of the badge has come and gone, and now everything they do, for good and bad will face heightened scrutiny. This will be a big win for the public and society as a whole. I'm curious to see what happens to these cops, if any will be let back onto the force or cleared.

Wow, I guess fleeing is becoming capital punishment recently. Dude ran and gets pummeled?
Sure, he may have been a shitbag, but that shitbag still has rights.

He left them when he stole a horse and ran.

Errrr.. Ok, so that was your opinion. I was thinking with you being in the LEO Type Field you would have more insight as to the legal part of your statement.
I will disagree with you. Even though he stole someone's horse, the horse seems to be okay. I am okay with a
little ruffing when ruffing is needed (amazing how many chimo's hit their head on those back doors), but I see this as excessive. Apparently, so did the Police Department.
Part of the awesomeness of being in the good ol' US of A is the laws that condemn us are also the laws that protect us. Either way, what the cops did (based upon ONLY what I read) was illegal, unethical and a disgrace to their power and uniform. I of course reserve the right to change my opinion as more information comes out.

Saw this multiple times on arfcom.
Disturbing on the human level. Guys masturbating via punching and kicking to get their jollies is just disturbing.
The horse hurt one of the sleazy cops.
The fat guy who fell down in the dust should have a desk job.
A couple of the cops are dehydrated? Who makes this stuff up?? Wow, sympathy not.
The guy is a criminal. Arrest, cuff and stuff. Professionalism. Get some.
Yes I understand they are frustrated at our terrible justice system, well they just made it worse. Thieves of any variety I hate, and if convicted - much much harsher sentences should be handed out.
