Awesome. Probably gonna end poorly, but what an opportunity to learn, especially if all parties go in of their own volition.

That's bad-ass.
Amazing times we are living in.

Radical! It always starts with some crazy guy and one desperate person. Years ago, amputation was done with the person awake because they had to do it by candlelight and ether that was used for anesthesia was too flammable.

No fucking shit!
I think I'd rather have been shot than deal with having my arm or leg sawed off while conscious

Actually, from a purely empirical point of view, this is kind of cool. Check that, very cool. I was sceptical of face transplants, too--if the recipient developed rejection of the transplant, a horrible death would ensue. Same here, but now that at least a dozen face transplants have been done worldwide, I'm more optimistic about this sort of transplant.

As our world overpopulates itself, why the f*** do people try to figure out how to save ONE life. ( especially if it includes genetic defects on either side)
Oh, that's right, these "doctors" need to make their house payments.(multi-million$ estate on a golf course)
Health care is an oxymoron, it's more about making the doctors and the insurance industry rich.
Disclaimer: my wife is a nurse at a cancer center. We both see the waste and abuse of "health care" daily.
The rich and well insured get premium care and incur millions of dollars of care, at the expense of you and me.
The poor and needy get Obama care, which means marginal care with tons of paper work, same cost, paid for for by you and me.
In closing, if you need a full head transplant, give the money to your kids/family.
Or buy a doctor a new Mercedes your call.
Live a healthy and moral life and when the reaper calls, walk proudly with him.
Knowing you took care off YOUR family

Science that's why.
Even if this operation failed, the knowledge to be gained is incredible.

I'm preparing for the zombie head transplant apocalypse.
How will zombies die now? You take their head off, they just transplant a new one! Scary!!

Someone else can go first. It's like everything else, the first things (software, hardware, medicine, any technological development) always is a disaster.

... or if you are a doctor, how about expanding the possibilities of modern medicine and science, you know, for
all of human kind? Who knows what this procedure will help, it's so complicated, they'll be learning shit from this for quite a while. Even more if it actually works.

I know we all want to live forever.
Ain't gonna happen.
Why waste millions/billions to extend the life expectancy of a dead man.
Plenty of air breathers to take their place.
Maybe we should colonize the moon too, for the advancement of science, what's a few trillion between friends.
