Guy in DC was facing felony charges for having an unregistered dud shotgun shell and a hollow point bullet for a muzzle loader.
He beat the previously fired shotgun shell charge because they couldn't find an expert to dissemble the shell in or out of court to determine if it could be fired.

I was filling out my ballot this morning and noticed this candidate for Kent School District Director, District #4:
He specifically calls out this incident as being one of his concerns.

The irony is palpable....
If you want people, especially young people/future voters, to embrace the whole 'worldview ethic', you would ENCOURAGE world travel....
I get that it's only Canada, but if, in theory, you want people (ahem, future voters) to not be myopic and think outside the US, you would think they would want folks to travel outside the US....
Those who can't go could stay in a safe room somewhere & make unicorns out of cotton candy....
Though if the ones who can't go are the 19 year old felons that were charged with raping a freshman in the bathroom, well, no safe room for them......

I went as a high schooler from Puyallup High School band in 19somethingsomething to a band competition in Abbortsford, BC. PHS had done this every other year for a couple of decades. It was by invitation, and we were always asked back. We stayed at people's homes, and they were happy to welcome us. All the band members reported different experiences, all of them good. My buddy and I stayed with a middle-aged couple who wanted to talk politics. My buddy and I got A's in civics. It was a great couple of evenings.
The competition music was a traditional piece, played by all entrants that was kind of a chamber band piece. Think traditional and stuffy, that is what got the highest mark. Then all the bands marched that afternoon down main street doing whatever song they wanted. Our band director was a jazz fan and went with a more interesting interpretation of the required piece, which was fun because it was pretty boring.
We came in 8th in the competition. Oh, did I say there were 8 total bands, 6 from the US and 2 from Canada? But our marching band was head and shoulders above the rest, even though it didn't matter, the locals cheered us as we marched, unlike the others. PHS marched each year in the Daffodil parade as well as all home football games. We knew what we were doing, had good percussion and brass, and shined.
I will never forget it.
This is what the Kent school is stealing away from the entire group of American citizen families who send their children there. They are heartless, shameless, slimy bastards. The illegals are breaking the law. I ask the school leaders one question: how many and which laws can we also break?

What is hilarious is that these kids couldn't get into Canada anyway because they are UNDOCUMENTED. Even if Trump did a complete 180 and said Illegals can stay as long as they want this trip would have to be cancelled because Canadian border rules don't allow them to cross without proper paperwork.
This is a bullshit ploy to get in good with the PC feel good crowd plain and simple. None of this stuff is of any concern to these hypocrites when a Democrat is in office but get a Republican, especially one that talks about immigration and all of a sudden 'fairness' is a priority. It is just like homelessness. It is minimized when a Dem is in the White House but I bet it will become a huge issue come 2020.

ALL of the decision on this should be a small vote between the band members and nothing more. If the kids themselves vote to not go, then fine end of story. F* the board's decision and the political side of this story.
