We're on the same page regarding misuse of tax dollars and policies that might encourage this.
I read the posts carefully. There is a hatred there by my way of thinking...
I am not sure what else to call it when someone receives pleasure or humor at the suffering of others.

I am not picking on anyone here- so no need to be defensive about it I don't think. My comment was genuine surprise. People who have to live in close proximity to these camps probably have a much more real understanding than I do. I'm confident of that.
It's easier to find solutions in a boardroom than in real life.

Much sympathy for those that have fallen on hard times despite their best efforts... same for the mentally/physically ill. ZERO fucks given for addicts who choose a buzz over responsibility and their own dignity.

Sounds reasonable to me.
Tough to find an answer to such a toughie... How to separate those who are unworthy of helping (because it would only support their choice) from those who had a run of bad luck or made a small error that cascaded into losing everything?
I think that the welfare state has exacerbated the homelessness problem... coupled with too-easy credit and a banking system that encourages (no--- Bombards!) our society into putting every thing on credit.
Our homes, cars, clothes, even our food now! That is profit for the money-lenders.

Too-easy credit is a trap that turns good humans into thralls, and one trip/fall on the money-earning treadmill can turn our brothers and sisters into the wrecks that are seen on the Tweakerville Cam.

It had pretty much run its course anyway. The owner of Z Sports installed the camera with the intent of getting those people off his corner. Cops rousted the shit out of them the last two days, and banned them from having tarps and tents set up. So they just moved a couple blocks away. The chat turned into a bunch of juvenile racist comments and with over 1000 people chatting, it was a mess. It was interesting while it lasted.
