I don't think you can convert racists by calling them racist. Instead, I think it's better to show people a better path, like Dr Carson: we are all Americans.

I didn't say I was married to it.

In fact, I didn't even watch the entire thing.

I just said they have some good points.

We are tossing the entire thing out, because of some overall objection, now? Instead of admitting they have some good points?

Is everything black or white, from here on out? Bow to the antifa crowd, or be dimissed at best?

I understand where you are coming from. I'm not bowing to either side. We need to make a difference every day through our own actions, and stop with all the blame games. This deep racial divide has been brewing for 150 years, and it will take more than shirking/shifting the blame to solve the tension. Where do we start the healing process?

That... I can agree with, completely.

I guess maybe my biggest point might be that shifting the focus away from antifa's fascism, doesn't help in the healing process in any way. It is counter to healing.

We have to call out violence where it is. And not accept it because we think the other guy is worse. Or for any other reason, like, their 'goals' may be similar to our own. (The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy, if their way of reaching their goal, is through violence.)

I am not a pacifist. Come attack me in person if you want to test that.

But nor am I going to accept violence as a means to an end. (Unless that 'end' is purely self-protection, and violence is the only way I can meet that end.)

I agree and get where you are coming from, but it is any different than Obama not condemning the BLM when the riots took over cities and burned everything in site?

Let's not pretend that the past Presidents did a stellar job in handling issues like this.

Why always using Obama to justify things? Its about today. Current events. The past does not justify anything. Its the past.

I think folks are too used to Obama, who would grab a microphone and take a political opportunity whenever he could. Any shooting = opportunity to shout at the American people that we need gun control.

I don't think a president NEEDS to react to every event that happens, even if the Facebook masses demand that he do so. Just because the left is yelling and screaming that he needs to denounce "nazis" doesn't mean that he needs to do so.

Sure, we all hate nazis. I'm sure that Trump does too. But we can't expect the public to pull strings attached to the president's jawbone.

There is a huge difference between being an ambulance chaser and doing what's right.

Past is in the past and its about now.... Hmmnn then why is there NOW an outcry for all the confederate statues to come down that have been up 80+ years?

I don't remember seeing any of your posts condemning Obama for not speaking against what the BLM was doing, or even failing to admit ISIS was an issue. Ya know the whole, "ISIS is a JV team" comment. Boy that comment has sure really aged well. So in all honesty it might be in the past, but BO's lack of doing anything are still leeching in to today's everyday world and is affecting the current administration.

Trump wants a vetting process for people from some Muslim countries, he must be racist! If you want it one way, it has to be the same across the board.

With all the strife going on today, just take a moment to sit back and think what a giant bucket of shit we'd all be stewing in if Her Herness had won.

The south is shit. Ever been there? Its stuck in the 1950's. I could care less about some memorials to TRAITORS. Tear all that shit down. Then move on. fuck the Confederacy. Fuck General Lee. the man AND the car.

And as far as my old posts....we used to talk guns and not so much political and conspiracy bullshit. Those were the days.

Welcome to Costco. I love you.

It would seem that General Lee himself would agree with you.

I travel to Kentucky once a year for work and a few other cities as well. Regardless if its stuck in the 50's or not, the humidity keeps me away from that shithole.

The worst part of the South - is all the stereotyping.

There are decent folks living there too.

Schopenhauer arguments are like a dog chasing his tail - there seems to be a lot going on, it is amusing, entertaining, then boring - same thing, over and over again.

In this brave new media world, everything is either really bad, or really good.

Bullshit - there are many shades between the two.

Fuck the extremists on both sides.

They are the fringe, and make for lousy news stories only.

Move along, nothing to see here, move along.

Plenty of nice areas of the south. Good people and good food. Stop it with the prejudice and stereotypes
