People have the right to protect themselves, to have firearms. This is a right that isn't given or bestowed by anybody or anything. It is inalienable.

The 2nd amendment doesn't grant you the right to have guns. The 2nd Amendment says, this right you already have, cannot be infringed upon by the government.

Perfect.

Tough to make it through this, it's so saccharine-sweet with Rose fawning all over Ginsburg but it does give some insight into this twisted justice's coming rulings for this year.
https://livestream.com/92Y/events/77203 ... /163404670

Right out of the bag she claims she isn't going to pre-judge cases, but then immediately announces her stances on district-drawing, religious liberty, etc. She also said that Trump's election was "sexist."
Rose tried to provoke her into denouncing Trump's wall but I think she caught it and avoided making a statement because she didn't want to be forced to recuse herself later.
He also tried to provoke her into commenting on Trump's travel EO.
Constant comments about her health and encouraging her not to retire because of the "harm" Trump would cause by filling more SCOTUS seats.
The audience tried provoking her into commenting on the Senate not confirming Merrick Garland.

The dialogue is pretty awkward and uncomfortable, with Rose almost treating her like a beloved grandma who has dementia or Alzheimers. He throws tons of softballs and compliments to her and at times is concerned she is unable to understand him.

This interview underscores why she should retire or be removed ASAP.

For context remember she came out strongly against the 2nd Amendment with her comments on the Heller case:

SCOTUS has never held that position.

Some like to twist Miller and claim collective but even that is a huge fabrication.

In an interview Breyer stated
Quote:
[Breyer] said it was his position that the Founders were talking about a collective right, “which is not the right of an individual to keep a gun next to his bed.”

Yes, this wanna-be Constitutional "scholar" is pretending to be channeling James Madison despite Federalist 46 flatly contradicting him.

In any case, let this be another reminder that we have two sitting judges, Ginsburg and Breyer commenting now that Heller was wrongly decided and both stating that would change it if they could get another gun case before the court and if they had the majority. Ginsburg was more explicit about this when she thought that Hillary was going to win but don't mistake Breyer's obvious innuendo.

If Hillary had won it would have been the end of private gun ownership in America. Sotomayor voted against McDonald which was the attempt of the courts' libs to flip Heller or at least nerf it.

As it is Breyer is the 3rd oldest judge behind Ginsburg and Kennedy, so we will likely have to continue putting up with his assaults on civil rights for another few years.

Liberty hangs by a thread, and whatever your misgivings about Trump he saved us from disarmament. His first SCOTUS judge, Gorsuch, already attempted to overturn an AWB.

The result of IVY league closed mindedness and singular thinking.

IVY league schools should be nationalized and their endowments disbursed.
