Over budget and they have yet to incur the cost of sinking the I-90 bridge when those trains start to roll over it.

Their cost estimates are always off. And when they try to pass this shit and are told they are off, they say they believe they can do it cheaper, and even under budget.
A few years later, people are looking at the next shiny thing, and cost overruns and false promises are just part of the news cycle.
No one is ever held accountable, no jobs are lost, and the same shit happens next time.....

Its more sinister than that...I think They know at the time of the project proposal that there's no way they can finish under budget.....but being truthful to the voter would endanger the passage of the funds. These people aren't stupid...they know labor and material costs raise each year....they purposely choose to ignore that teeny tidbit. Typical Shyster Bait n Switch.

My original post implied intentionality, as you point out, but when I edited for brevity, I deleted too much Thanks for making the point I failed to

Don't worry. Sound Transit 4 in 2020 will pay off ST2 and ST3 for a measly $200 Billion, depending on cost overruns.............. ST5 in 2024 for $700 Billion will pay for all of that. ST6 in 2030 will get that train going across Lake Washington for under $1.6 Trillion.
Same old shit. I've lived here since the 60's. Lots of money going out, traffic keeps getting worse.

The Canadians built Skytrain to service 2 million riders per year, covered more miles of more difficult geography, had to build a 2000 foot bridge for transit to the North Shore as part of it, and did it all for an average cost of a hundred million per mile.
So what the fuck are these assholes doing other than ass raping the tax payer for essentially the same capacity transit system with fewer miles of track and no fucking bridges ?
Living large at our expense.
And, all the property they stole " for construction purposes " by using eminent domain is being rezoned for development and resale after the lines are built, at the expense of the people they stole the property from.
Factoid for ya - average Sound Transit salary is $93,000.00 per year. Administration top heavy to the point of retarded - and beyond.
Fuck 'em all with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire covered in flaming napalm for lube.

Before the Seattle 99 tunnel fiasco the city took two downtown parking lots from a lady under eminent domain. They needed the property for...............city owned parking lots.
