Bad comparison. I do not hide my face when going to purchase a firearm. And neither do law abiding protestors when they visit a rally. We have nothing to hide because we do not have ill intentions.

Okey Dokey!
I find it crazy that I have to explain this.
Amused may be a better word.

Is buying something legal and disguising the transaction from the payment processor illegal? Is concealing a weapon illegal? Yes if you lose your guns in a boating accident then maybe it can be illegal some day.

Is donning a mask, assaulting people and destroying property illegal? Clearly it is.

I understand the mindset you are trying to convince us that we have compares to antifa. You are just stretching very far in my opinion to do so.

You mention similarities. How is doing no harm to person or property similar to doing harm to person and/or property.

In no way was I comparing the legality/illegality. The point had been raised that they (antifa) may be hiding behind masks because they realize that what they are doing is wrong.
I raised the counterpoint that I don't believe that they think this, and that we should not expect them to fade quietly from the scene.
I compared actions that we (gun owners) do to "grease the skids" to make it through certain situations. I carefully explained that we do this not because we think our 2A actions are wrong, but to simplify those certain situations.
So you are saying we hide our transaction details from PayPal so we can do something illegal. We conceal our weapons to do something illegal. We lose guns in a boating accident to do something illegal.

We were not talking about wearing masks as an illegal activity by the way- as far as I know that is not illegal (yet, and I hope it stays that way.) So it is a Strawman Argument to make that comparison as if that is what I said. That's not an attack Stompah. We all make these kinds of arguments. But- you can go back and read what I wrote to see that your words are not at all what I said.
I believe that the defensive reaction to my words are reflexive and as a result of feeling that I am comparing gun owners to antifa.

I'll boil it down as simple as I can - Let's not underestimate our enemy just because we don't like (or even hate) them.

I'll let this drop after this post most likely. I don't mind at ALL when people disagree with me, but I struggle with letting go when it seems clear that my words or intent have been misunderstood.
I think that I have explained it to the best of my ability. If someone else is reading this and sees what I am trying to say but can express it better than I have been doing, I'd be grateful for the assistance.

I don't think anyone said wearing masks was an illegal activity.

Unless, off course, they are worn to facilitate illegal activity. Such as robbery. Or rioting.

Just like possession of a gun is not an illegal activity.

Unless it is used to facilitate an illegal activity. Such as robbery. Or murder.

Obfuscating paypal transactions so that you can legally carry out a legal activity that paypal arbitrarily and capriciously frowns upon... Is only barely technically similar to wearing a mask to obfuscate your identity while committing a crime like rioting and other violence. (In the first case you are obfuscating only your intentions. In the second, you are obfuscating your very identity.)

And you have to really want to make the connection. So much that you are willing to look past the clear and obvious distinction between legal and illegal activity. If that is what you are doing, then you are picking at a nit to make an obtuse point.
