Wow thank you all. Lots of great listening to different artists suggested by everyone. I'll be busy on YouTube listening to different artists for a long time

No Doubt early material is incredible for it's diversity of musical styles. I've always been amazed by their versatility in being able to play different musical styles
I also forgot one of my favorite songs ever:
U2 and Mary J Blige singing 'One'
Mary J Blige has an amazing voice with a ton of range and power. Beautiful.
Someone mentioned Sugarland. I'm really more of an old school and Outlaw Country fan though one of my favorite modern country songs is 'Baby Girl'. Could listen to that all day long. Will have to listen to more of their material.
Somehow I also forgot to mention Melissa Etheridge. Pure awesomeness.
Then there's Joan Armatrading (Down to Zero)

I like many. but for current singers, Gaga can belt them out or sing softly pretty nicely.

A little out of the mainstream, so far, but a couple of good additions to the list.
Crystal Bowersox (Check out the new "Alive" album)
