Wow. What a drag!
He just propelled his future to skid row!
(Should I stop now?)

No, don't stop! There's a whole rash of these, and I'll enjoy every one.

I was just thinking that they need to put the skids on these carjackers. They rub me the wrong way.

Obviously this guy is trying to get into your car, you'd think you'd lock your door then, right? NOPE! STILL UNLOCKED..
I swear..
Good on the driver for getting away, but Jesus Christ people, use some common sense...
You're pointing the finger at the victim in this? Wow. That's edgy.

Fuck that dragging the SOB for blocks, now he can sue the driver in our fucked up ass-backward society.
Were I driving, as soon as that fucker got to his feet and didn't run his ass away, a point blank mag dump of .40sw would make him forget his scraped off pecker for good.

The driver must not have taken the night ops training classes

Do an abrupt Left U turn, have the tire go over the shitbag.
Doubt he would still be hanging on after that.

Kinda like a cop getting shot and not wearing his vest... What should have been bruising and a bad cough turned into serious injury or death...
You wouldn't say 'he should have been wearing his vest'?...
I'll wait......
Apparently common sense isn't so common anymore...
The guy TRIED TO GET INTO THE CAR AND FAILED..... the driver DROVE OFF, when he STOPPED, the guy AGAIN opened the door..
Which means the driver FAILED to not only lock his door ONCE, but TWICE, even AFTER the threat presented itself.
But yeah, 'victim blaming', sure... if that's what you wanna call it... I call it shitty situational awareness and poor planning..
But hey, it didn't get him killed,
this time....

Where did it ever list the specifics of who the driver was? I have yet to see that listed anywhere.
For all we know it could have been a senior citizen, a lady, and young teen driver or someone who just straight up panicked. We all know that you are so prepared for every curveball that is thrown your way, but some aren't.

Police officers have made the conscious decision to engage in a dangerous occupation. Their use of protective equipment is part of their training. Every random person on the street can't be expected to be an operator or secret squirrel ninja. Obviously locking your car doors is common sense. It's possible this person was (understandably) freaked out by being attacked and locking their doors wasn't the first thing that popped into their brain.
More of your initial post (and your subsequent post, by the way) was devoted to ridiculing the victim for failing to lock their doors than was spent pointing out what a cocksucker the perp was and how badly he needed to be on the ass end of an ass kicking. It's right in line with the skewering victims receive when they post on here about guns being stolen out of their homes or vehicles.
Maybe people shouldn't be criminals. Maybe we shouldn't put the onus on normal, law-abiding people and instead place the culpability where it belongs -- on the street rats that pull this shit. As Jim Carrey so succinctly put it in
Liar Liar, "STOP BREAKIN' THE LAW, ASSHOLE!"

Him/Her/Xe/it.... whatever the fuck..
Having the door locked in the first place would have prevented the whole shebang....
I'll even give 'it' the benefit of the doubt and assume they were getting into their car when he attacked and they didn't have time to lock the doors.... The door closed at some point, meaning it could be locked..
I'm not BLAMING the driver for what happened, obviously skid mark trying to carjack is the one to blame, but there should also be some recognition of what could have been different, and SHOULD HAVE been different...

dude just stop. Not everyone practices car jackings, think everyone is up to no good and has the awesome situational awareness like you do.
Perhaps the person was scared shitless and panicked and couldn't think of locking the door.....

my 2 cents
1. The driver was smart to keep going, but stupid to not have his doors locked, situational awareness.....LIVE IN THE ORANGE PEOPLE!
2. Most new cars (yes even Subarus) have auto door locks and they are programmable (you can turn them off)
3. If that F#*^% would've punched my car after a failed attempt to get in my door, he would be choking on his testicles right now
4. When crime quits being so profitable and easy, we will all live better.

Realistically, getting past the issue of what a fortress a locked door can be, this incident still has some useful lessons.
A) Hitting the gas really is a viable and effective solution if someone tries to get into your car. That's what this person did and it worked out. Sometimes all you have available to you is a 3,500-lb car, so you may as well use it.
B) Carjackers don't need an open door to attach themselves to your car. This guy was clinging to the handle and its locked/unlocked status was completely irrelevant. If someone has cast a sticking charm on your car, see lesson A.
