In a heartbeat if the timing and price were right and I had the extra time/money.
I would love to take a week or month or 6 months in Europe. Yeah the deprivation of rights is bothersome, but the awesome history and friendly people and great food and drink are worth it.
My current desires are France and other spots where WWII battles were fought. I want to see the Normandy and other grave sites.
I would also like to see historic spots in Italy and Greece. I figure maybe 3 weeks off, a week in each country, would be a fantastic trip. Add the Riveria on top of that...

Oh, and our beer and wine surpassed Europe in the 20th century. :) the best red wine still comes from France, but now it is $1,800 a bottle. I'll take a top Washington Cab for a hundred and a quarter any day. But usually it is Tuesday spaghetti wine for maybe $10 a bottle at Costco at best.

I would if there was something there I wanted to see or hadn't seen yet. This isn't the Europe of the 70's, 80's, or even the 90's.

I would happily follow the Tour de France by about a week. The streets would be as pristine as they'll ever be and hotel prices would be back down to reasonable levels. Plus, the Tour visits the most gorgeous sections of countryside with the best castles. I don't care about shopping or clothes or fancy food or wine, so the big cities have no draw for me.
Scandinavia would also be a big yes. I have plenty of family there and no need to visit any of the urban centers.

I lived in Portugal courtesy of the USN for about 18 months, my family is Portuguese, Scots with a bit of Irish, & German thrown in. I've been to Spain, Germany, England, France, Italy, Switzerland and Turkey (Istanbul is considered the European side of Turkey). I'd still love to see Scotland (and visit where my family is from), Ireland, Iceland, well, pretty much most of Europe. Given the opportunity, I might even go live on Madeira where my grandfather immigrated from, and I still have family that I've met there. I'd love to go back and tour around, Scandinavia too. Even parts of north Africa are interesting to me.

I really wanted to try to get on one of the last 6-7 diesel boats that were left at the time. There were a couple in Subic. I even asked for another remote duty station (as the Azores were considered), like Adak, AK, or there was another one in Greenland(?) that sounded interesting, but no, let's send you to Norfolk to go sail on a tin can (which I actually liked).

I was stationed in Germany 1998-2001, and I would love to go back.
