Florida authorities have issued another stern warning about Hurricane Irma: Shooting bullets into the storm won't help keep you safe.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office tweeted late Saturday: "DO NOT shoot weapons @ (hashtag) Irma. You won't make it turn around (and) it will have very dangerous side effects."
The sheriff's office, which is in the Tampa Bay-area, was responding to a Facebook event page created two Florida men inviting people to shoot at Irma.
The page reads: "YO SO THIS GOOFY ... LETS SHOW IRMA THAT WE SHOOT FIRST ..."

I've been hooked on the Weather Channel's coverage most of the day.... pretty boring up until a couple hours ago - dude is hanging out in Naples - eye wall just going thru - DAMN 130+ mph winds and rain - been hoping the guy would get blown away!!!! It should be riding the coast up thru Ft Meyers and Tampa, so there should be some more good coverage as the day goes on....
Earlier this morning I was thinking 'typical overblown hype'.... but damn, Irma is gonna trash the whole state of FL by the looks of it...

more destruction, them tower crains are only able to with stand 120mph winds as the act as a vane.
I can see several of them destroyed with buildings too.
we'll have to see how my aunts house and new windows hold up.

I'm going to bet that it's much less crazy than anticipated. It'll slow down, mellow out, won't hit until Monday, and it'll just be a storm, not the Apocalypse.
Based upon what I read, my prediction was spot on. Giant storm sure. But blown out of proportion.
