As far as their "free" program....
Two ways of think about it. Using Equifax for anything could be akin to hugging the person who just stole your big screen TV. OR......they could NOW be the safest site to use. Sort of like when Jack In the Box got caught with shit in their burgers and not high using enough temperature to cook the E.coli out of them. After they got caught, it was probably the safest burger around.

When I was in the Navy, they had you stencil your first, middle initial, last name, and SSN on your sea bag. Not like anyone is going to see that at the airport baggage claim.

Said the meat was so infected you would have had to autoclave for 20 minutes to make it safe to eat. But ya, risk of contaminated food it pretty low now. Lawsuits and recalls would put many companies out of business. That's why they employ internal inspectors.
