Looters in Houston stealing TVs, shooting at rescuers, attempting to steal boats... I got a first hand account of a guy who went to help in Houston and had someone steal his go bag out of his boat while he was helping people get in..PD told him if he had to shoot, do so, and leave...

It's never food, water, etc... It's always a TV or a 'pair of jordans'...

Looting is the kind of crappy behavior reminding us that all of the polite trappings of modern civilization are just superficial window dressing. There's a lot of folks just needing an excuse to engage in anarchy. Hell there's a lot of criminals and predators in society that don't even need an excuse like a major natural disaster to engage in despicable behavior.

Makes it all the more important for the rest of us to stay true to treating other people decently no matter what the circumstances.

Never happen in the PC correct society. They would start screaming racism anyway.

Biggest problem is way too many have lost any foundation of a moral compass. It's a get what I want and I'm entitled.
There is something to be said for the past practice of shooting looters on site.

Yet oddly enough there was no reported looting in Japan after 2011 earthquake.

I was at an outdoor cafe in Yokosuka in the early 80's.
Buddy left his camera on the table and we went back half an hour later to get it.
Yup, still there.

I would have no qualms about shooting looters.
Not one Fuck would be given.

You guys saw how fast the freeways there filled up and the government told people to stop trying to use them and just shelter in place?

When earthquakes, NK or something else hit's western WA it will be evn worse here. Be ready to shelter or to walk out. And with all the detached libs in the Puget Sound who will turn into animals after missing 3 meals, make sure you have a good bug out bag.
