I try and tell my kids about what happened every year. They know the story, but luckily they were not around to be a part of it.

My son was 5 at the time, I woke him up, sat him down in front of the TV, told him this was historic and you will remember it for the rest of your life.

He asked questions, I told him the answers as straight forward as I could.

He remembers it and talks about that day watching TV. A lot of his classmates were censored by their parents. Many did not believe him in his class that day until the teacher started talking about it.

I was on the way back from the dump in Lexington when the first plane hit.

Before going back to the jobsite I swung by my house and grabbed a small TV.

It wasn't very long after I got it plugged in and the news turned on that the second plane hit.

Work completely stopped. We all just went home, everybody did.

When my Dad got home we put the flag out and hugged each other. Didn't really talk, we all knew what it meant.
