I don't think you're offended at all.... but if all's fair then with LOGs comment it has to also be equal. He doesnt think a part of a song that hasn't been sung for years is relevant in todays time...I'm in agreement. Its probably been cut or excluded from the song that's sung for that very reason. But I think it should stay as written as a piece of 'complete history' and not re written or completely erased as to not offend a feeling that stems from a 200plus year old song.
