Chan has dedication and skill. Look at how many times he's been injured doing stunts. For that alone he deserves respect for his craft.

His first major U. S. Release was 'rumble in the bronx', that's what brought him here to the U. S., A lomg, long way from home.

Some of the stunts he does makes me think I have double vision, he's just that quick.

"Chan can't act"..

that's difficult to assess since a lot of his acting is done in Chinese. Is he a good actor when speaking his native tongue?

I'd say, given the challenge of acting roles played out in a second language, he's a passable actor. Plus, consider the genre of the films....

I don't care how good he is in Chinese. He's wooden and seems like he is reciting his lines in English. Which he is. Good actors suspend your disbelief. Jackie tries, but he doesn't for me. Bruce Lee could talk in any language he wanted and he was believable.

NOW, I'm not saying he isn't entertaining, and a great action "hero" type. He is. And this movie looks good, although the plot line seems beat to death.

And I like Pierce Brosnan. Even as a bad guy.
