or should I just plan on stopping by Kyle's house for lunch?

Heading to the Hamilton pit for some shooting fun in the sun tomorrow and want to get lunch on the way back. Good BBQ in Sedro or Mount Vernon? or? Whaddya know?

Carolina Smoke is a favorite of mine. Unfortunately too far to go for lunch any more, but when I worked in Woodinville I'd go at least every couple of weeks (it was still a bit of a drive even then). I-405 & 527 exit 26(?) I think. Right across the freeway from Thrasher's Corner.

The owner Dave, is an ex-Marine, good guy and knows his BBQ.

No idea where the Hamilton Pit is, but if you're going / coming from the Land of the Kirks, you're likely going by.

He is referring to the Medford Pit, it is in Hamilton. You have been to one of the clean up/shoots there.

Jim, if you work normal hours Id be happy to fire up the smoker for ya, but alas, I will be working.

I'll schedule a visit to Carolina BBQ, if not tomorrow, soon.

Thanks Kyle! That's awful nice to say. Seems like a good day to call in sick (and go shooting) your voice sounds a little rough. :wink05:

What time are you heading up there? Im Mister Mom this week but the kids are in school so I have a few hours. Kelly's BBQ in Westside Mount Vernon gets my vote as best in Valley (negating Kyle obviously) as far as commercial places goes. Swamp Daddys is newer and on 20 on the way up to Medford but I have heard nothing but bad things about it and just haven't made it up there to confirm yet.

Might be too far out of the way, but Gabriel's Fire in Mountlake Terrace is awesome.

Should be heading out of Kirkland by 9 at the latest. Maybe at the pit by 10:30? Sooner, maybe.

Moose creek bbq in Arlington. Take the MRC exit and head east 1/2 mile. It's on the north side of the road. Their brisket is outstanding!!!

Probably save that one for a day when you and I go to MRC. I think we'll hit one of the ones mentioned in Mount Vernon or Sedro.

You want to go tomorrow, Mike? or do you have to stay home and rub the old lady's corns?

Went to the pit today with Lionhrt and his wife Connie. David took his flippety flapper target stand up there for some fun. (It is a whole lot of fun)

Shot lots of guns til our wrists hurt. (well one guy was complaining about .357 hurting his hands :crybaby: )

Lots of sun-shiney. The pit was really clean comparatively. And we had the whole place to ourselves! Did not see MJ, Wilmer there - wha thappened?

Went to Kelley's in Mount Vernon for lunch. Good stuff. Pretty gal, very friendly (nice eyes and a beautiful smile - she wanted me, I could tell) serving up the pulled pork sammies. I'd go again. <stalker

all in all a good day!

I ended up cleaning house and spaced out by the time I came to it was time to pick up the kids. I couldn't be a stay at home dad, I would clean myself to death.
