It's always been a thing of priority and importance in the industry.
When it was more a handshake & nod amongst cronies years ago, you made the time. Nowadays, with computers and logistics scheduling, it leans the samed way, but more in line with a 'how important is your job to you' mentality... Shit happens in the middle of the night...you may get a call out of the blue at 2am, will you support? May never happen, but contracts for incoming freight may require it at some point. Oftentimes, commitment is measured by sacrifice. They want to know your level of commitment, and sacrifice. |
