Extending the Burt Gillman Trail ..... At the expense of 209 established busines's parking spots. For the low low price of $250 per inch. That's right folks per INCH1.4 mile bike trail for $23.5 mil thats TWENTY THREE AND A HALF MILLION Dollars. FOR Bicycles. https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/ ... nk-projectAnd these IDIOTS need a Shark Tank. Blows my mind. What ever...

And this used to be a highly used Rail Road right of way.... so while they are busily tearing up this and other railroad tracks and "repurposing" business access such as these parking spots, they are also trying to expand light rail and buying up real estate to accommodate it.
Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing?

Yes!!! Let's make big businesses pay a head tax for employees! This is to address our homeless CRISIS!!! Oh, the humanity!!! We are SO socially CONSCIOUS!!!!
And...let's put over $20 million into a new walking and bicycling trail that sees limited use, because...
wait....what?

Nowadays, the vast majority of 'highway improvement' funds go to bicycle lanes, hiking trails, and HOV lanes. As far as making more lanes for single occupancy vehicles, hasn't happened in a while. They want to dissuade people from taking cars to work.

These stories are starting to read like a good sit-com, until you realize they are true and not fiction.
Unbelievable how these politicians get away with this. Even more unbelievable that people vote for them.

Why don't we just toll the bike lane like they do the HOV lanes or the bridge?

And the bicycle registration tab fee should be based on the cost of the bike and the weight of the rider. Then, there's the charge for the mandatory bike operator's license. So many opportunities they are missing.

It's always easy to spend other people's money. Maybe this is their homeless housing solution since the druggies have been setting up tents on the trail lately.
