On turnout:
To say it was poor is an understatement.
In looking at the numbers it seems entire districts just didn't make it happen.... across the state. There are 2 factors:
1) Trump complacency, Blue state blues - One one hand many people are just trying to live thier lives as long as Federal is Red, and on the other hand we have a serious issue with ideological Conformity (a concept that people want to conform to belong) so when participation numbers in public events are low... others feel like joining that group, EVEN IF THEY FEEL COMPELLED TO will not as they don't want to seem like thier standing out. Conservatives and the like don't tend to have an emotional connection to thier party, most of us already have a religion, we don't need another one.
2) The Informed voter - The informed voter is an apathetic voter in the primary, they think that "meh, my vote is pretty much pointless, there is always one that I can vote for that will win regardless". However, that Top Two system was created to screw that group over. Top Two advantages the side with zealots and robots. We just didn't get the vote out in a viable way this time... part of that honestly is a internal party problem, but we can turn this around.
What can we do:
1) Recognize that you have real power, understand that there are people out there that just need to believe that more people think like them. Look at where you live, ARE YOU A Republican PCO? Does your precinct have a PCO? NO? OK you need to fix that. Become a PCO THIS WEEK!!!! If you need help with that let me know. As a PCO you will have access to data on your precinct, then its just a matter of talking to your neighbors. If you are in the 45th, let me know I will help you out and get you locked in. If you have a PCO let's get you hooked up with them, help them for the next 3 months. Own your prescient, don't just complain about it.
2) Men and Women of this country have given years, body part, thier piece of mind, and even sometimes thier lives for this country. Many of them are right here in this forum. Well folks, its time we got together and made sure that thier sacrifice was not wasted on apathy and weak minded thinking. Your candidate is asking for one thing, time... and sometimes money if you have it to give. I get that you might not agree with them on some things, but know this, a republican will not pass bad gun law, not in a republican majority. DONE... simple and clear. A democrat will AT LEAST not obstruct it. Standing out of the way, is the same as providing a path.
Your choice...
In the next 3 months you have 3 people in your district, who are dedicating thier lives, taking thier time away from thier kids and spouses (though I think some of the spouses are happy with that), and dropping a lot of thier own cash into thier race (NOT THE GUN MONEY!!!). While, the other side has candidates with usually a minimum of 100k and mostly large corp or PAC donors, a war chest that looks like NASCAR most of us have less than 20k. Stand with them, fight back, don't let the left tell you what is right.
If your in the 45th or in a district that is hopeless, join me, I promise it will be entertaining... not many people have ever come away from a get-together with me and not had at least a few laughs... (well there was this one guy at a wake, he didn't laugh the entire night, I think he was just dead though)
I say this often... republicans have personal donors, constituents who help, and expect thier representative to work for them. Democrats have lobbyist, Clients who expect them to work for them. Who do you want to help get elected? A person who represent the constituents of his district, or a person who presents his Clients?
Then what are you doing now? Because if that answer is "nothing" then you are working for the other guys Clients.
