You get a fatter carb (performance) if you don’t buy the sm model. Forgot which model has it.

If you are tall enough the Honda 650 is a good bike with all the power you will need

Get the sm, buy the dual sport conversion junk, and the fcr 39 carb (phat boy).
Buying the sm conversion is prolly more expensive.
Thats if you want the sm shit. And thats a pretty big if.
*Drz400 is really heavy for just trails and off roading.

I’m a big dude too. When I rode dirt bikes, I had a Yamaha WR250F. Plenty of power out of that 4 stroke 250 to haul my fat butt around. And it handled great.

I had a WR450F before my 250. Those 400-450 bikes are a lot heavier. The power, though....yeesh. My 450 was scary fast!
ETA: I should mention that there are some great mods for tall riders. Most bikes are designed for a 5’6” 150lb jockey. Us big dudes need to do a little work to make the bike comfortable and handle well.
Tall handlebars, tall seat foam, and lower pegs all help. A suspension retune is a good idea too.
A great dirt bike resource is thumpertalk.com. There’s also a club that meets up north called Stump Jumpers.
