Denali
I planned on flying out here in February of '02 to go climb Mt. Robson with a few guys as a shake-out. Two days before the flight my friend called and said he was getting a divorce. The ticket was already bought so I decided to come anyway. I spent some time with him then went up to Vancouver to spend some time with my Granddad (my Grandma had passed away the year before and he was alone). Within the span of that week I decided to move here. The religious would refer to that as a 'calling'. I just felt like there were a lot of small things pushing me this way (I had finished college the previous semester and my dad was being a jerk so that might have played into it).
Since moving here I haven't climbed anything significant. I fell in with a bunch of drunken sailors. Over the years I've upped my game and only sail with slightly less-drunk sailors. I've sailed across the Pacific one and a half times (you guys were there for the half), around Vancouver Island, and around the sound and inside passage for many, many races. All of it has been incredible.
I don't regret not climbing Denali, I still feel like I could get up it if I wanted to (with lots of ibuprofen). It was never about a summit though. Just like all the pursuits I've done it's the journey that mattered and the people I was with. Despite my outward internet appearance I'm actually pretty introverted. I don't do things to brag about them. I wanted to share crossing the pacific by sailboat because it's not something most people would see. As all of you witnessed it wasn't glamorous, and we failed. Not totally because of me but I should have been more on top of things now that I look back on it.
I would hope that all y'all would post more about what you are doing in everyday life. That's the real bucket list.

I sold it to my dad going on 3 years ago now. He's dumped tons of money into it. Its currently sitting in my garage. Its 98% restored show car. Shes gorgeous. Not my choice of color, but it came out nice.

Bone marrow donation. I've been matched twice, but in both cases, the would-be recipients died before they could receive my donation. The second one died just three days before my scheduled donation date.
Now I'm on the Living Kidney Donor list as well. Hoping that one or the other will be checked off of my bucket list soon.

The second one died just three days before my scheduled donation date. I’ve been matched twice too. They never followed up with me as to why it wasn’t going forward. One of them I was supposed to go to Portland. The timeline was a little fuzzy but they knew that I’m self employed and ready to go, it was going to happen within the week. They were going to put me up in a hotel but I made arraignments to stay with a friend, then the whole thing just dropped. I figured with HIPA they couldn’t tell me anything so I didn’t ask. ETA- forgot the theme of the thread... You should NOT see this as a bucket list failure. I always figured that my soft nougat center was rotten. I give blood. They ask for plasma every once in a while (must have something to do with BAC at the time). Just being on the bone marrow registry is above and beyond. Secondary screening is above and beyond that. So here we sit, waiting, if anyone needs it.

I've always wanted to sail the S/V Courier to Juneau. So there's my bucket list failure. Maybe someday.

We need pix of the Rancher-roo, Kyle!
Here's a bucket list item I haven't hit yet and probably won't: Learning to SCUBA dive.

Get my pilot's license. Maybe someday but it's god awful expensive and family expenses take priority now.
