I used to PT the fat lifers on the helo pad during lunch.
I don't know if it was the exercise or missing lunch but they did lose weight.
We had a GQ drill and some of the fat asses couldn't fit through a scuttle.
Which could be a bad thing if the ship was sinking.

This new plan will go the way of Michelle Obongo's school diet plan.
They lose weight because they won't eat Kale and other shit like that.

In order to trim their ranks, the Marine Corps has recruited a sports dietician to change service members’ dining options and decisions.
The Marines, like other branches of the U.S. military, are fighting obesity, Military.com reports:
So-called “Clean” protein offerings at all meals will include:

Chopped eggs,
Yogurt,
Cheese,
Salsa,
Legumes,
Trail mixes, and
Vegetarian options

The Marine Corps has also instilled a color-coding system for all meal choices, Marine Corps Force Fitness Director Col. Stephen Armes says:

GREEN: Eat “as much as you want,”
YELLOW: “Go with caution,”
RED: Consume only “minimal” amounts.

Marines will also get more exercise – because they’ll have to walk a lot farther to reach the less-healthful menu items, Col. Armes says.

In Marine chow halls, leathernecks are going to have to walk a lot farther -- and past a lot of other ideal food options -- before reaching them, Armes said.

This program will never work. You never tell a jarhead what he can or can not eat, beat, kill or fook. Feed them what they want, then make them turn the fat into muscle with exercise, like God designed our bodies to do in the first place.

In boot camp in 1989 we had fat body privates. They would paint red stripes on their PT gear. I on the other hand went in at 5'10" 155lbs came out after 4 years in the infantry at 185. I was a sexy bitch back then but I know you all love my form now.

Went through boot camp in 84' Army Infanytry (11bravo) at 5' 10" and 135 pounds of lean muscle. I was one of two to max the PT test in our platoon at Fort Benning's Sand Point barracks. I could climb that rope in the drill pit like a monkey and with the quickness (no one could beat me).

The DI's would literally snatch food off the "fat boys" plates in basic and slap on my plate and make me eat it. Most of it was kind of disgusting. I remember getting served whole cooked fish with the head still on. I never liked that much.

Spent 4 years in Fort Irwin CA. playing the OPFOR (as the Ruskies (cold war era)) and ETS'd in 88' at 185 still believing I was invincible.

I was there at Sand HILL there too in '84. I went in the same weight. PT was bad, strength training every day, the Army did it better in '86 in alternating strength and flexibility days. Food was not ideal. But we have more GMOs and unhealthy food which makes people eat more and react by gaining weight. Why more unhealthy kids? Diet and exercise. We used to go out in the woods and walk to work in the 70s, even with Pong and bike everywhere. Now kids are indoors and obese.

Haha lol, yes Sand Hill. Sorry I was typing fast and could have many more excuses but I wont use them. How could I forget? I still have the "yearbook" type publication from when my platoon went through basic. Funny to look back now.

In basic our DS said no burgers for you fat boys! (I was not one of them I was in the middle) Skinny guys take two burgers. I went into basic at 175, and came out of AIT at 155.

89' Bootcamp at Fort Jackson. I was 5'10" 175lbs. lean. Ate whatever I wanted and lost weight, high metabolism. Supplemented the Army chow with beer and pizza and still max out the PT test. I'm guessing the Active Duties are getting way too many unhealthy choices.

TDY with the Air Force a few times and couldn't believe they had actual plates, silverware, and all you could eat. All this time I was eating off of a tray.

Read WWII => Vietnam war stories written by Marines. Fukers barely got food way way stretched out there. And they did get skinny.
