So, anyone seen the video??? Well its supposedly practicing for an upcoming movie and to me it looks like a prop gun, brass dont look right. The way the brass bounces dont look right so im thinking some type of blanks or prop rounds

If anyone has any insight of this vid or what exactly hes shooting for rounds please chime in

i know lame but its bugging the hell out of me and i cant seem to find any good info on it

When my brother was a prop master for Sony Pictures he set up prop mini guns and machine guns.
They run off batteries, propane, and spark plugs.
You load them up with empty cases for appearance.

Don’t know enough about the mini-gun to speak to it. But, the guy standing beyond the firing line to film it, is nuts.

Sorta looks like the crimped blanks that end up longer than normal brass after firing, and while I've never fired one of those, the "recoil" sure looks like just a push from the burning powder rather than from real bullets. Blanks make sense for that sort of movie stuff anyway. :alcapone:

I think it's not just Gronk getting his rocks off on this.

That is indeed a true to life GE134 minigun, in 7.62 NATO.

If you'll look closely at the brass falling, you will notice that they are indeed blanks. Standard mil-issue blanks.

Still is a cool video, though.

Powder man thats what i was thinking....brass length and the way it falls and bounces around seems more like blanks than normal brass. Im assuming no type of blank adapter needed for this type of system

No blank adapters or restrictive bores needed. The weapon is purely electrically driven--which is why it's so fast.
