Think about what characteristics you want in a dog, then do plenty of research on the breed you are considering. I've been a dog guy my who life, and have had a few different breeds. The Boxer is my favorite, great family dog, loves kids, loves his family, extremely loyal, great watch dog, has loads of character, and is puppy like for years. The people I know who have boxers are noxer for life people.

Good luck with your search!

My buddy has had two boxers in the time I've known him. Great dispositions. Short hair! Not sure how well they would fit in the condo scheme.

Steve, you will be out walking a lot! (Maybe that's a good thing, I mean beyond just the general health benefits... think how this will allow you to justify that SECOND helping of dessert cake)

We need more dog walkers...

They're the ones that find all the bodies...

oh, and joggers, and, occasionally, a hunter.

"this morning a jogger/dog walker was out, and found the remains of 48 year-old...."

The only dog my family ever had was a Gordon Setter. She was beautiful. Basically a Black Irish Setter. She was a serious rabbit dog. She loved to chase them. My BIL was going to let her go because he couldn’t handle caring for her. We gave her a good life, she returned the favor with many years of love and security before she passed away. A dog for Steve? Time to get that Hepa filter doubled up for all the fur that will be flying. Lol.

I think I solved Steves problem and can make his girlfriend happy at the same time. I was talking to my foot Dr about going out to the Humane Society to adopt a dog and he told me his wife goes out there once a week to walk the dogs for them and to play with them. She could volenteer and get her dog fix and Steve could be the Heartless non dog loving non-owner he is.

Adding up the pieces of the puzzle.
His girlfriend wants cake face to get a dog.
Cake face doesn't want one or isn't sure.

Cake face goes to "test drive" a puppy.
Girl friend agrees to meet up with him but she is a little late, (as per cake face instructions).
Girl friend then sees three or four hotties all over cake face and the cute little puppy.
Girl friend somehow changes her mind about wanting cake face to own a dog.
Life is good for cake face.
