My dad's had 3 Boston terrier rescues. First two died of cancer. Both different types. Both from puppy Mills back east.

If you really believe that you can handle a dog, rescue one from shelter.
Choose some ugly and unwanted.
It will become your best friend and will make you a better person.

Yeah, I know I will, and it will be fun.

And frustrating. And expensive. And I'll be guilt-ridden. But in between all that, it'll be fun. :)

Buy Insurance if the Cost thing bothers you that much, though in my experience with lifelong Dog ownership it really isn't worth it.

I paid a couple times, but my Dog Family member was worth it.

I look at it this way....Lock your GF/Wife/SO in the Trunk of your Car for an Hour along with your Dog. Who will be happy to see you when you open it?

The Dog.

Yes! Buy puppy insurance! We could have saved thousands on our dog's allergy diagnosis by buying insurance when she was a pup. It's a smart investment in your dog's future.

From what I understand and was told by a vet treatment related to allergies aren’t covered by insurance. I have insurance for my dog just Incase something does happen.
