I do not believe that there is any possibility of a "solution" to this type of shooting, nor to Main Stream Media (and our society) dancing in the blood.

Even if they had metal detectors and armed guards, he could have just started blazing after the metal detector started beeping and went walking in shooting. A determined killer willing to give up his own life is very hard to stop.
