Hi Guys,
I have to be in Seattle tomorrow for a heart surgery meet with the DR. I would like to CC and would like to know if there is a policy or a place to lock one up if they use metal detectors, like you can lock them up at a courthouse. I plan on riding the ferry and catching a Uber, so locking up in my truck is a no go.

Hospitals and clinics typically do not have secure access points during the day. Like going to visit or appointments and such.
Conversely, during after hours most hospitals will close most entrances to those of the ER as the main point of entry and some do have metal detectors active during these off hour times.
So following WA state law as a CPL holder there is no law breaking. Of course as a “rule” all hospitals are “weapons free”.
Hope your appointment goes well and just make sure you are concealed and safe.

I was at GHC a few years ago for an X-Ray, shirt off pants on. Tech came back and said I either needed to lose the gun or he needed to shoot it higher so the radiologist or someone else didn't see it.

If it's just a consult, no one will know you have it. Carry on!
Plug: UWMC is a great place to go. Heard many horror stories from people going to other hospitals and when they end up at UWMC, its a whole new magical world. My wife works there, so if you have a tall blonde gorgeous nurse during your aftercare, be extra nice?, it gets you a long ways.

Well you might have to do an EKG , which means shirt up, or off. Good luck with your consult, that cardiology department is great. A number of the doctors there transferred from Children's or worked at both places when they first opened the Regional Heart Center. In my experience Children's doesn't employ slouches, so you know you're in good hands. I was going to UW for a few years before I moved to Oly. I've had two heart surgeries.

I just wanted to say that it's good to hear from you, it's been a while.

It has been awhile, moved back a few months, so you should be hearing more chatter from me.

Thanks for the replies, everything went pretty well, no problems CC even when one of the guts had me take off my shirt to put a monitor on for the next 30 days. Funny thing about the monitor AT&T= no coverage when I got back home.

He probably has some type of Holter Monitor - think continuous EKG reading so doctor can see when people have “episodes” and what the heart rythym looks like to figure out what is going on.
So most units will connect wireless or via phone to transmit info to Doctor office. His sounds like uses AT&T and where he lives - no cell coverage signal.
