Cleaning out the garage for the move. Jesus, after this, I thought I might find a Victrola in the next box... Quote: The SupraFAXModem 14400 was a v.32bis modem. When it was Launched by Supra, Inc. in January 1992 at a $399 price point, the 14,400 bit/s model was less expensive than most existing 9600 bit/s models. This price/performance ratio made it a disruptive technology, and its introduction drove modem prices sharply downward. Whereas a 9600 bit/s modem was perhaps $599 only a month before its introduction; by the end of the year $250 14400 bit/s modems were not uncommon.

I used to be on several Seattle computer BBS's in the late 80's to the early 90's. Ya, I remember those.
14,400 was a screamer back then.

I had a 300 baud modem on my Commodore 64. Supra was down the street from my childhood home.

Oh the days of starting a download in the early evening and then walking away and sleeping the night and waking up to maybe having a photo...

I’m sorry. Going to make you guys feel a bit old but those were released a year before I was born. I don’t remember them. I remember window 98 as my earliest computer memory.
