But, they're so well trained that they can instantly bypass the 4th Amendment....

Also, (insert 'cop kills dog' joke here)

Also, are they gonna charge Cop #1 with murdering a cop?

Ban high capacity assault dogs. It's an officer safety issue.

He passed the BATFE entrance test, he starts next week at Glynco....

In all seriousness..... No fault on the officer, shitty situation all the way around... I just figured it'd be a good time to point out how much power K9s have in running around the 4th amendment, while they claim how perfect the dogs are.

Mallies can be a nuerotic animal if miss treated. Over exposure to high stress situations can make them go "barking" mad.

Yeah, I call BS on 'verbal correction'...

I'm guessing he was yanking on his collar/chain and yelling at him.

Cops are under a lot of pressure...

Sometimes they just snap... and start biting people...hurting the ones they love...

This guy...the disclaimer about Benzi being a member of the Carter family is pure (swear word). He is a stain on the badge. That is all.

I see no humor in this at all. As someone who loves dogs I find it a sad story the dog was a trained officer and for what ever the reason (I don`t know why I wasn`t there as nobody here was there to say for sure) had to be put down.

Awhile back a WSP trooper was walking his K-9 around Lions Park in Poulsbo.
The trooper asked a little girl if she wanted to pet the dog.
Girl walked over and the dog knocked her down and started chewing off her face.
Article said the dog was in service about 2 years.
Local paper was taking donations for reconstructive surgery.

Cool story. Minor problem: the WSP does not have K-9 officers. Detection dogs, yes, but no K-9's as one generally thinks of K-9's. Link or it didn't happen.

I find Malinois scary. Years ago, while in the army, I was doing staff duty officer, making the nightly rounds at our base HQ. All the MP K-9 dogs for that part of Germany were quartered there. It seemed every one was a Malinois, and they didn't just bark at me, they would all go into a frenzy, biting at their cage doors, making it clear they wanted nothing more than to eat me, and I was keeping a respectable distance from them. Night after night. I was later told they made a superior K-9, being smaller, more agile, and less prone to disability/disease issues than German Shepherds. Maybe so, but I've since been more cautious of them than any other breed, and I've had multiple GSDs and a Chow
