"Assault" weapons ban in the works. Directing his Minister for Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction,
“You should lead an examination of a full ban on handguns and assault weapons in Canada, while not impeding the lawful use of firearms by Canadians.” Oh yeah, a minor detail: Ban will include Handguns. So a crazy goes off and commits a crime and ALL Canadian citizens must bear the consequences of such an act and lose their right to bear arms. This is, first and foremost, a 2A board, and this is specifically a 2A-related thread. The rest of the political spectrum aside, GG is a member here and she has invested a lot of time and energy in pro-gun causes.

I don't disagree with any of that. But laying this at another member's feet -- when that person hasn't even been in this thread -- is unwarranted. You've said your piece. There's still plenty to discuss about how those living in Canada feel about this and what they might do to counter it, so let's move on.
