If you get an other one get it from a different pet store, also sanitize the cage you currently have.

Okay, I felt bad after laughing at the Richard Gere reference, so, I looked around online.

Started to post some info, but there's a lot....

So, if you google this, there are places like 'Hamster Central' , with info...I guess there are Hamster Forums :thumbsup2:

I googled this, & got info: Hamster from pet shop keeps dying

I appreciate all the help and advice guys. Read the Google link above and checked off everything (not sure about radon gas) and the only open spots are somethings wrong with the hamster, the first hamster died of a virus that our thorough cleaning of the cage didn't get, or an issue with the mealworms.

And a special shout out to the member who offered to re-home a hamster with us!

I've heard they are social animals so they want a friend. Get 2 next time.

Depends on the species. Some will not tolerate having another hamster around them unless it's mating season.

I had and so did my son, had several hamsters when kids. Fed them crackers, nuts, grain, hamster pellets, carrots slice of apple. Never fed live or dead insects or worms. Do not leave in ball for extended periods as they may not get sufficient O2 with all activity moving around house in small environment. IMHO
