Avoided buying a restorable 1918 03 Springfield at Cabela's for $99

It was a struggle. Buddy of mine wanted it more though.

Now for the 6 to 8 week wait.....

saw the carbine version of this today (a buddy has one also), very nice, well built and accurate. Oh yeah, other than listen to Randy brag about the SBR he ordered, I also picked up my shiny new Marlin SBL from him

I transplanted five sets of Lee dies from those horrid little red boxes to my new, empty Hornady boxes. :thumbsup2:

Printed nice labels for 2.5 of them. Ordered more label material from Amazon.

Had so much fun that I ordered ten more Hornady boxes . . . that will finish the job, plus leave a few for future growth. thumbsup

Hmm. Or you could have ordered Hornady dies to begin with :045:

Haha . . . nice. :wink05:

Actually, I do buy Hornady dies whenever I can. My Lee dies were purchased because either:

1) Hornady doesn't make dies in that caliber; or
2) Hornady dies weren't available at the time in that caliber (think post-Sandy Hook).

I like the Lee crimp dies, but in general I much prefer Hornady.

Some guy bought it about five minutes after you left.

Sold a 28/30 to a good home, set up for a buy on a S&W 3000, and began re-shopping for budget optics. More than likely Primary Arms. Going to be a helluva Saturday.

Good thing it will spend a few months in NFA Jail to be rehabilitated. When you come to eventually bail it out, it should be prepared to service its master.

Took three project guns to the range DURING A WEEKDAY and they ran great.

The .41Magnum Blackhawk shoots great. Yeah, it packs a punch with hot ammo.

The raffle baffle Trooper Mk III formerly known as Troop MK IV shot like a champ. Don't tell anyone, but I think it's more accurate than my Trooper Mk III.

The Glock 20L with new slide lock spring, frack that thing finally runs great. It choked on a few of those lousy Sig 10mm rounds that weren't crimped properly. I have 3 boxes left to crimp.

Awesome day. Even the geezer talking at me, didn't disturb me.

Productive day. Tomorrow should be VERY productive if everyone`s schedules work out. If that happens (big IF), I`ll be helping a friend buy his first gun, selling my Swede Mauser, buying an SPR upper, selling the 28/30, and buying a new shotgun. Everything from there out is just gravy.

I had the opportunity to visit the new REHV ARMS gun shop and firearms services in Covington yesterday, 21 APR 2016. Jody and crew are putting together a very personable shop that will continue to be an important asset to the firearms community. Jody is about business but more importantly he is about building relationships. In prior and continuing conversations, one of the keys that some gun stores miss is being able to meet the client on any level of firearms. REHV Arms hits this important point home by offering the client merchandise at all price points. I was able to pick up an AR lower receiver and the new electronic filing system worked really well and with no delays. Keep in mind that REHV Arms is a full SOT dealer and specializes in finding the right supper for your needs as well as other NFA items. thumbsup
