Weather was about perfect, learned afew things and walked a way from the day with alittle bit less ammo and M1 thumb but totally worth it. Thanks for the invite Sportsdad60 Ooh, that sounds like a good time!

Let's see. This week.
Bought: 2 lower build kits + complete uppers - BCG/CH 2 LPKs 2 NibX BCGs 1 Regular BCG w/ charging handle 1 SMOS rail 4 RATS TQs
Total damage so far is $1,165.13
Oh, and I committed to buying a 10/22 for $160
Add the $1,200 I spent last weekend on a safe and grill, $1,000 on wife's birthday present, $450 last week for new All Clad pots/pans for her, $300 for the Guide Gun and $500 for the G26....
I think I need to hide my wallet from myself.

Grabbed the S74 to go take another walk through unexplored territory down some animal trails that`ve fallen out of use. Didn`t make any earth shaking discoveries, weirdest was a single dead foxglove sitting in the center of a little circular grove of Alders and dead Blackberry bushes. I returned to the creek to clean up a little spot I like, mostly pulling away nasty old branches covered in Spanish Moss. Smelled awful since it`s wet moss on old dead wood.

Got a 22 conversion and 3 mags and felt like a kid at christmas time. Now to get a dedicated 22 barrel and collar. Fuck yeah!

Took a Master class shotgun shooter to the pistol range. After an hour of instruction, he went from 12" inconsistent groups at 5 yards to 3" consistent groups at 10 yards. He was so excited after the lesson he wants another one and he said he'd be buying me SEVERAL bottles of whisky in thanks.

I think I owe that particular Master class Shotgun Shooter a bottle myself for helping my son (and me) on the Trap range.

Finished a Rem 700 ADL restoration/ modification project. It began as a rust spotted, beat to hell ADL in 30-06. I hand sanded all the rust spots, brought the metal finish down to 400 grit, then DuraCoated with Swiss Army Tan. Polished the bolt, blued to match Remington original, blued the sights, replaced the trigger guard, screws, etc. Glass bedded the barreled action into a Remington Mossy Oak synthetic stock, and mounted a Leupold 2x-7x scope in Leupold rings and bases. Now all I need is a fitting (subtle) 1.25" medallion for the buttstock and see if it will shoot!

Nice job with the 700, Mark! That's an interesting contrast between the tan parts and the blued bits.

I`m with Steve. I`m not one for Mossy Oak but it all comes together really nicely on that.
