Went to the range yesterday, spent the day sighting in and load testing 6 different rifles. Lots of disappointments, but a few nice surprises.
My AR gave me and the shooter nearby a surprise by doubling.
I got 2220 fps out my .375 Whelen Improved shooting the 300 gr. Sierra. Recoil knocked the little Leupold emblem off the side of the scope.
My 30-06 load shoots 180's 100 fps faster than Remington Core-Lokts with no high pressure signs.
The best part was meeting and enjoying the company of two fine gentlemen who shared the range with me.

That lower looks exactly like the JoeBob (and NFA) Spartan lower. I've seen probably half a dozen or so different "manufactures" that use this lower as their own.
Hmm. Not sure how I feel about a side charging AR... I'd need to shoot one first. It looks odd at first sight.

- Back pressure from using a suppressor won't force gas out the rear of the receiver into your face like it would through a standard charging handle opening...or so I think
- It's something different than a plain-jane AR
It's the price tag that kills me.

Picked up something to carry.

It's 99.999999% done just one fucking roll pin left (I have fucking crushed 3 of them) And don't judge me on this part of my workbench. Keep in mind, that in pistol form, it can stay loaded in your car. Once it becomes a rifle, it must be unloaded. Doesn't sound like much, but if you're driving and shit goes south, charging a weapon will be the last thing on your mind... :D
