Began planning the next gun purchase. I have my practicality taken care of and normally I`d opt for ammo and/or mags but I`m thinking of getting a fun gun since everything else is a working gun. Comes along around the property, is well-cared for, not a safe queen. Go-to gun. I`m thinking lever action on this one.

Ha! You fucking guys! Should of used Google navigation. Trust me, you'd be amazed what their navigation knows. Larry and I took the northern route like it sounds like you guys did. Hit a fatality accident while we were headed back west and got diverted south. Neither of us knew where to go. Enter Google navigation. It turned us up a farmer's driveway, past his house, around his barn and through his north field. 5 Minutes later we're back on the route west. Although your way is certainly more exciting!

Damn, I'd forgotten about that diversion. That WAS fun, wasn't it. Problem is, we were in my noisy Dodge Cummins rig and couldn't have heard the female navigator's voice anyway, Mike.

"You find that one on Russ or Jay's land?"
Russ's ranch, just across the 2-track road from where Tom, Jake and I camped 2 months ago...right smack out in the open PD colony instead of slinking through the fringe brush as usual.

Introduced a left leaning friend of mine to the joys of .22's and AR-15's.
As usual, a couple hours with guns was eye opening and educational, including demystifying the AR and it's "scary" features.
