I have a Samsung French door fridge. It sucks, and is crapping out on me. You may have seen some of my previous threads. I'm giving up, and about to buy a new fridge. I don't really have a design/door layout preference, but I don't need a door water/ice dispenser. (old house) Recommendations?

I know 4 different people with Samsung fridges including me. They are absolute junk. Every one of them. Stay away from them. You probably figured that out by now sense you have one too. Sorry that's all the advice I have for you.

I always check Home Depot first for major appliances. Free installation, usually about $100 cheaper than anyone else for the same model ##. Put it on a credit card that doubles the mfg warranty. Saved me $219 on my last washer that took a dump after 23 months.
My last fridge was a Kenmore, defrost timer crapped out after a couple months. Sure don't build them like they used to.

I never in a million years would recommend an LG washer to anyone, BUT their fridges seem to be decent value. Ours is going strong.....8+ years old now

Love me our Whirlpool refrigerator! It's pretty nice. Got it from Sears outlet online scratch and dent for super cheap even after the yuge shipping cost.

I have an LG french door (with one of those being a door-in-door, peek-a-boo thing) and freezer at the bottom. Has water and ice (crushed or cubed) in the door and we love it. Super quiet, fully adjustable and great lighting.

My wife wanted the peek a boo door thing, I thought it was gimmicky, but I love it now. Glad we got it.

Check with your power company to see if they have any Rebates on energy efficient Refrigerators. My local PUD has one going right now and they have a whole host of selections with "Energy Star" ratings.
I ended up getting a Kenmore on sale that beat the crap out of the PUD pricing and rebate, combined. My local Sears Hometown store has sale prices on all kinds of appliances regularly. Got a dishwasher, Refer, and most recently an LG Washer and Dryer. Prices on the Washer/Dryer were $300 less (each) than the sale price for the same units at Home Depot.
Samsung has had some problems. QC has gone in the toilet on some products. You may be able to get one and have it work like a champ. You also may be one of the unlucky ones that finds their appliance on fire.
It's just like buying a car. Every once in a while someone gets a "Lemon". The trick is to find the company that just makes fewer "lemons". None of the companies produce all "lemons" thankfully.
